Language Arts
Our story this week is Judy Moody Mood Martian. We'll practice the reading strategy: monitor and clarify. We'll also make sense of figurative language. Our story's main character practices finger knitting as a way to calm her mood. Here's a link if you'd like to learn how to do this activity with your child. Not only does it relieve anxiety but it also helps develop fine motor skills. https://youtu.be/MsZsUBYU0qU
Writing
We'll create a narrative while practicing point of view.
Math
Third grade math requires a lot of independent responsibility. Math facts; addition, subtraction and multiplication require daily practice. Flash cards are the best way to get those facts memorized. This week we'll create flash cards for addition and subtraction. We'll add multiplication to our deck in the coming weeks.
